After close collaboration with Western Power in order to fully understand the fire damage problems experienced in rural areas, Western Poles Company conducted an extensive global search for suitable protective products.

Fireguard™ was the clear choice. As the only product specifically designed to protect utility poles, Fireguard™ has over a 10-year track record of success in providing protection for timber poles against low to medium intensity fires.

Western Poles recently saw the highly successful completion of a significant field trial of this new fire retardant coating at its Picton depot.

Western Poles offers a coating service for poles already in service using a mobile plant operated on demand. All customers purchasing construction and building poles for use in residential and agricultural applications are also offered the Fireguard™ coating to protect their poles.
